President's Message

September, 2010

The 'Show and Tell' program is one of my favorites. The program really shows off the talent of our club's

members. I just finished my entry. If you want a sneak peak check out http://lumberjocks.com/projects/38032.

Most members know how it works but new members may not.

Members are encouraged to bring in a woodworking project and relay a few details of how it was made. As if

the thought of showing off your creation is not enough encouragement there will be drawings for gift cards this

year!!!  New members please don't worry that your project may not be worthy, it's all for fun.

Objects on calendars are closer than they appear. That's right Decembers 'Toy for Little Shavers' is soon upon

us. I have already purchased several hundred wooden wheels. They are free to whom ever wants to make toys

to donate. The website has a set of easy to make car plans ready to download.

Another topic I wish to make note of. We are seeking members to be nominated for officers and board members

of the club. The four offices are President, vice President, Treasurer and Recording Secretary. Two board

members are needed as well. Additionally a Program Director is wanted. Perhaps you have a fresh approach of

how the programs are put on now’s your chance.

Part two of this months meeting is the Swap Meet. That's right, you get a chance to unload that piece of

lumber you bought at 1999's Swap Meet. Funny how some lumber seems to just get passed along. New members

get there early for the best pickens.
That's enough reading now back to the shop making some sawdust.
