HITCHCOCK, PETER R., 79, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2012, surrounded by his loving wife, Lori (Loretta) and family.
He was born in Minneapolis, MN in 1932, was a graduate of Hibbing High School and Carnegie Mellon University. He had resided in Hibbing MN, Scottsdale AZ, and most recently, Louisville. While in Hibbing, he was an owner of the Hibbing Daily Tribune and Graphic Arts, Hitchcock Travel Service and was a distributor for Snap-On Tools.
In Louisville, he was a member of the Falls Cities Wood Carvers Guild and the Kyana Woodcrafters Club.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Paul and Frances Hitchcock, sister, MaryAnn Mathews, brother, James Hitchcock and grandson, Eric Gilmore.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 26 years, Lori; his daughters, Leslie Hitchcock, of St. Paul MN, Nancy Young (Jon), of Southborough MA and Dana Hakola of Louisville; son, Tom (Christine), of Hastings MN; and his grandchildren, Meredith and Ryan Gilmore, Karl and Emily Young, Montana Fountain and Nora, Eli and Zeke Hitchcock.
He attended the New Life Church in Louisville. A memorial service will be held at the New Life Church, 3402 Goose Creek Road in Louisville on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
